From Our Authors

From Makers To
Authors

“If you ever thought about writing a book but had no idea where to start - start with SPI. After 6 months I have a solid working draft of my book and the remainder outlined…that will be next month. I am already working on soft marketing while I am finishing. This feels so real! I even have the next book floating in my head. "

“SPI provides the guidance and support to bring your manuscript to life. No more dreaming, this program inspires the DOING. SPI changed my thought process from "Oh, I have this idea for a book," to an action-oriented mindset of "This is the next step in the publication process."

“I’ve been able to finally give real shape to a book that lived in my heart for a long time. SPI changed how I think about writing a book by helping me let go of the idea that I needed to build it like a term paper, having it perfectly defined from the start. I came in unsure of my voice, my structure, and even how much of the book should be technical versus story-driven, but the process helped me see that I could develop the full vision first and then shape the pieces over time. Now I understand both the creative and practical side of writing much better, and I feel far more confident not only finishing this book, but approaching future books with a clearer process and much more trust in myself.”

CLARITY BEFORE WE CHAT

Common Questions

I'm a maker, not a writer. Can I do this?

Absolutely. We specialize in helping tactile creators translate their craft into words. You bring the vision, the samples, and the patterns; our editorial team guides you through the writing process step-by-step, ensuring your unique voice shines through without the overwhelm of a blank page.

How do you handle technical editing for patterns?

Our editor team is highly experienced with technical craft publishing. We use industry-standard software to re-draw and format your knitting charts, stitch diagrams, and quilt block schematics so they are crystal clear, accurate, and visually beautiful for your readers.

What is the timeline?

The flexible plan lasts 18 months. Most of our authors go from concept to published book in 12- 18 months, but the timeline truly depends on you as the writer. 18 month gives us ample time for concept development, pattern testing, technical editing, and designing a marketing strategy without rushing your creative process.

Do I keep my rights?

100%. You retain full ownership of your intellectual property, copyrights, and royalties. We act as your production and advisory team, giving you the quality of a traditional publisher while you maintain complete creative and financial control.

Is the partnership call really free?

Yes, completely. It’s a zero-pressure conversation where we review your project, discuss your vision, and see if our incubator is the right fit to bring your book to life. If it is, we'll outline the exact next steps. If not, you'll still walk away with clarity on your path forward.
